Judith TatarPrincipal & Creative Director
Judith is a seasoned international art connoisseur recognized for creating inspiring, art-informed environments that add depth and meaning to interior and public spaces. For more than 25 years, she has worked with the world’s leading artists, art experts and designers to develop and implement innovative art projects in North America, Europe, and Asia.
One of Canada’s leading contemporary art dealers for more than 15 years, Judith has blended her love of fine art, design and travel into a thriving consulting practice, working with architects and developers across the globe. She has positioned herself as a thought-leader and art expert, specializing in concept creation and implementation for public, retail, corporate, and hospitality spaces.
Judith is co-founder of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, the world’s largest photography festival. She has curated more than 150 exhibitions and regularly attends art fairs around the globe.
Jiyeon HongSenior Designer
Jiyeon is a multi-disciplinary designer with a background in retail, corporate and hospitality design. Along with her work experience, education in Interior Design at Sheridan College, Environmental Design at OCAD University, she has had the opportunity to work for a global retail chain as the Senior Project Designer and explore many facets of art and design.
Prior to joining TAP, she was the Senior Project Designer in the Store Design & Planning team at Indigo overseeing all aspects of design from concept development to design drawing reviews, fixture design, art sourcing, coordination and managing construction coordination from project inception to completion.
Jiyeon is responsible for helping to develop TAP’s hospitality and corporate art programs, combining her diverse range of skills and knowledge to weave a unique narrative that always exceed client requests and expectations. Jiyeon instills a sense of luxury and refinement within her work, letting the client’s story unfold in a visually invigorating and intriguing manner. With a diverse range of experience in envisioning, producing and executing projects of varying sizes and budgets, Jiyeon brings a critical eye and understanding of materiality to the TAP team.
Neil BotelhoSenior Art Consultant
Neil Botelho is a cross-functional designer and maker with a background in arts services, interior design and strategy.
He studied Furniture Design at Sheridan College and is specialized in the activation of space, working iteratively with clients from concept through to installation of bespoke residential and commercial projects. He brings a distinct craft sensibility to the TAP team, informed by his intuition to invent richly tactile and intimate user experiences.
Before joining TAP in 2020, Neil worked at a reputable Toronto-based art services studio, where he gained expertise in custom framing, curatorial practices, and art gallery appropriate materials and techniques.
He is also near completion of his Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation at OCAD University with research interests in urban public space and art-based social programs, rounding out his creative tool kit with an analytical and collaborative approach to complex projects of various scopes and budgets.
Alan GuldimannIntermediate Designer/Project Manager
With a degree in architecture, Alan has a background in design development, construction standards and project management, having worked with Cambria Design-Build and Dufferin Construction Company in Toronto and Oakville. He has participated in numerous architectural design competitions, and is involved in helping direct the graphic design of an architectural publication supervised by the Department of Architectural Science at Ryerson University.
Alan specializes in design development, detailing, and the production of installation documents for TAP’s art programming projects. He draws inspiration from the rituals of the everyday, and the permanence associated with inhabiting spaces that have been designed for the needs of its inhabitants. His projects employ strong graphic design elements, speaking to a high degree of spatial richness, tactility, and materialistic honesty.
With a professional interest in graphic design, typography and industrial design, Alan has helped to develop and implement a comprehensive environmental graphic design program for one of TAP’s major bank clients, with five project sites spanning two continents. The project involved creating a cohesive global vision for the brand.
Robyn brings her experience as an architectural designer to her role at TAP. After studying Architectural Science at Ryerson University and pursuing additional studies in art and architecture at ENSA la Villette in Paris, Robyn had a hand in the design and realization of a wide scope of projects while working at architecture firms here in Toronto.
She has been a member in the design / coordination teams of complex institutional projects, streetscape and public art proposals, as well as high end residential. Her experience lies in sensitive, material-driven design and detailing, finding simple and elegant solutions for custom furniture and millwork, architectural layouts, and installation art works.
Barbara MacdonaldSenior Public Art Consultant
Barbara has a great depth of knowledge in both art consulting and interior design. Holding an MA, Contemporary Art, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, NY, Barbara previously worked with global, high-end residential clients. A keen patron of the arts, Barbara has been actively involved with partners in art and The Art Gallery of Ontario on special projects, fund raising events, and on acquisition committees. Barbara’s passion has been public art and she is actively engaged in various endeavours which aim to explore and expand Toronto’s public art activations.
Lisa Costa is a seasoned bookkeeper with over 21 years of experience in the finance, and a decade of experience in the design industry. She joined Tatar Art Projects in 2016 after working with IBI Group for more than a decade, and Marshall Cummings Interior Design prior to them becoming a division of IBI Group in 2004 . She brings extensive years of financial, administrative, and client management experience from the architecture and interior design industries.
