Judith TatarPrincipal & Creative Director
Judith is a seasoned international art connoisseur recognized for creating inspiring, art-informed environments that add depth and meaning to interior and public spaces. For more than 25 years, she has worked with the world’s leading artists, art experts and designers to develop and install innovative art projects in North America, Europe, and Asia.
One of Canada’s leading contemporary art dealers for more than 15 years, Judith has blended her love of fine arts and travel into a thriving consulting practice, working with architects and developers across the globe. She has positioned herself as a thought-leader and art expert, specializing in concept creation and implementation for public, retail, corporate, and hospitality spaces.
Judith is co-founder of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, the world’s largest photography festival. She has curated more than 150 exhibitions and regularly attends art fairs around the globe.
A creative leader in the arts and design communities, Darren has worked in the contemporary art world for more than 20 years as a consultant to private, corporate, and public art clients.
An experienced strategist and communicator, Darren brings to the TAP team a unique curatorial eye and the ability to develop large-scale thematic programs. He ensures projects are delivered on time and on budget, with the highest degree of creativity and professionalism.
Chris ChenVP Asia
Chris is an Architect and Interior Designer practicing in Guangzhou. He has worked for top international design firms on lifestyle and luxury environments, which include residential high rises, luxury retail, and lifestyle hospitality. Chris serves as the Vice President of Tatar Art Projects Asia. Beyond creating beautiful environments,
Chris has been active in teaching architectural design at the New York Institute of Technology. He has been a guest speaker at Tinghua University in Beijing and at the University of Saint Joseph in Macau. As a New York-licensed architect, Chris approaches design from a global perspective. He explores each project within the context of location, time and history, bringing together eastern and western influences, craftsmanship, and the precision of machines. Each space he designs blends luxury and stylish modernity, creating a timeless contemporary environment.
Barbara MacdonaldSenior Public Art Consultant
Barbara has a great depth of knowledge in both art consulting and interior design. Holding an MA, Contemporary Art, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, NY, Barbara previously worked with global, high-end residential clients. A keen patron of the arts, Barbara has been actively involved with partners in art and The Art Gallery of Ontario on special projects, fund raising events, and on acquisition committees. Barbara’s passion has been public art and she is actively engaged in various endeavours which aim to explore and expand Toronto’s public art activations.
Amy PouliotSenior Art Consultant
Amy has a background in residential and commercial interior design. She is responsible for developing innovative art programs for TAP’s hospitality, retail, and corporate clients. Working closely with our team of researchers and communication strategists, Amy conceptualizes and implements cohesive art plans that support a client’s story and budget. As part of her role, Amy oversees art research, sourcing, curation and framing, and collaborates with artists on major commissions.
Isabella HoltArt Consultant
Isabella is a recent graduate of the art history program at McGill University. She has held internships at Steven Kasher Gallery and Galerie Richard in New York. She also worked as a social media intern at Art Observed. Isabella provides key support on TAP’s hospitality and public art projects, assisting with art sourcing, administration, and project coordination.
Alan GuldimannDesign Associate
Alan is pursuing his bachelors degree in Architectural Science at Ryerson University. He has a background in construction standards and project coordination, having worked with Cambria Design-Build and Dufferin Construction Company. Alan is completing a year-long cooperative education term with the firm. He provides key technical support, coordinates projects, and develops production and graphic materials.
Lisa joined Tatar Art Projects in 2016 after working with IBI Group for more than a decade. She brings 21 years of administrative and accounting experience from the architecture and planning industries. Lisa is responsible for managing all of TAP’s accounting functions.
