Air Canada’s VIP Travellers met with Commission by Gavin Lynch

Categories: Ideas

Tatar Art Projects had the pleasure to work with Air Canada and designer, Heeykung Duquette, to commission an exceptional artwork as the focal point for their new VIP lounge, opened on December 1st, at Pearson Airport.

TAP was tasked with identifying a canadian artist whose work could celebrate the life and vibrancy of the canadian landscape. gavin’s contemplative work will be seen by countless international travellers and we are very proud to have been part of this prominent commission.

Selected from a short list of six artists, Lynch’s “That Place to which we always Return, 2017” was selected by Air Canada to be feature in the new lounge. “The viewer is guided from abstracted woods at the extremities of the painting to a clearing in the centre,” comments Ottawa-based Lynch. “The clearing is a contemplative space for lounge visitors to perhaps think about their many journeys, personal and physical.”
